The last 15 years has seen exciting changes in commercial ride on lawn cutters, with a constant stream of new models, including many specialist golf course and sports turf cutters as well as amenity cutters. Driving much of the change is increased productivity, providing turf professionals with better efficiency, and more reasons to upgrade the old grass cutter. Changes in golf course design and the striving for better ball speed has seen more recent changes. Ransomes Jacobsen intends to exploit these trends by developing innovative battery driven grass cutters that could pave the way for incorporating new features such as remote control, robot, and GPS capability. Another catalyst for this change has been the desire to reduce noise particularly around residential areas, and also improve safety and operator comforts. Furthermore, at a period of energy security and global warming, the battery driven grass cutters could help achieve fuel economy.......
